Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth (EIN 27-3761788) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
We will be hosting our second Freedom Celebration on November 13th in Philadelphia, PA. We can’t wait to gather with many as we bask in the great joy and power that FREEDOM brings. Our celebration will honor the thousands of people who were told as children they would die in prison and have now come home and the incredible resilience and compassion of those impacted by youth violence. We anticipate about 300 guests, including about 150 members of our Incarcerated Children’s Advocacy Network and National Family Network, all of whom have been directly impacted by the extreme sentencing of youth.
On this momentous occasion, we will be honoring CFSY Co-Founder Bryan Stevenson for his visionary leadership and relentless advocacy on behalf of the thousands of individuals who were given life without parole and other extreme sentences as children. Healing is a central pillar of CFSY’s work, and this special occasion is about creating meaningful and holistic opportunity for our community members to experience healing, as well as experience a public acknowledgement that what they endured as children was wrong and underserved. We believe community-care and healing is vital in fostering a sense of belonging and support in our movement and the broader world. It brings people together, allowing them to share their experiences, heal, and grow collectively.

Celebrating 15 Years
In September 2024, we gathered in Washington, DC to commemorate our 15th anniversary, uniting under the theme “Hope In Action: Charting a Bold Path Forward.” We reflected on the past 15 years of the movement we’ve built alongside you, and together, we looked boldly to the future. We celebrated milestones that felt personal to each of us – 10 years of the Incarcerated Children’s Advocacy Network, 15 years of the National Family Network, and the incredible growth of this movement and community since 2009.
