Thank you for your interest in supporting the Incarcerated Children’s Advocacy Network (ICAN)!
Who are ICAN
ICAN is the first of its kind network in the country, made up entirely of formerly life sentenced children, who are now home after serving decades in prison. ICAN members are dedicated to using their stories to bring awareness to the mistreatment of children by the legal system and the racial, class, and gender disparities in incarceration. ICAN members provide community care, professional skill-building opportunities, and connection to the reintegration resources necessary to rebuild lives and advocate for change. Each ICAN member is a leader in their community and is helping to create a more just and equitable society.
Support ICAN Members Directly
Communities of color, particularly Black communities, and low-income people are disproportionately impacted during tough economic times. Having a criminal record, and having been erased from society for decades, further exacerbates these disparities. Every day we hear of ICAN members being laid off, having to make impossible decisions to pay rent or buy food, and struggling to access basic health and safety resources. You can help! Contact Anna Melbin at [email protected] to support ICAN members.

Thank you again for the money and the extra check. This is what got us through and allowed us to actually catch up. Thank you for being a blessing – in this situation and in my life.
I am truly grateful. I received this assistance as I was recovering from serious health issues, including coming out of a coma, and was not able to work. I can’t put into words what this support means to me, thank you.
Thank you so much for sending me money for my bills and just to be able to buy a decent meal. You are appreciated dearly.
I got the gift card. This is a blessing – to be able to buy school supplies. Thank you so much!
