ICAN members are a unique subpopulation of formerly incarcerated individuals. Like many people who have been imprisoned, they are highly resilient, have significant talents and skills, and many have completed educational and skill development programs, including earning college degrees, in prison. However, this particular group were locked away as children (some as young as 13 years) and many have not had the opportunity to fully discover their talents or long-term professional goals. They are incredibly eager to learn, to contribute and to bring their enthusiasm and appreciation for life and freedom to their new professional teams.
